DFW Games 2nd DENTON event coming up. Mini A-Kon event coming up.

 DFW Games held Video Game Competition with the Denton Anime Club at the Denton Public Library on Sat. Jan. 24th. 

 

Update: Great gaming time in Denton took place for Mini-A-kon II Saturday 5/15/09.  A pretty nice crowd braved the rainy day and gamed at the Denton Library on SFIV, DOA4, DDR, DBZ, Tekken, Soul Cal and more...

Several interesting speakers addressed the Anime crowd including "Master" Rodriguez and a nice costume contest was held.  Look for more and bigger post A-kon...


Gaming Fun in Dention
DFWGames and Animanga teamed up for a Good Time in Denton on Saturday as scheduled from 1 – 5 pm on Jan. 24th 
The main public library at 3020 N. Locust, Denton, TX 76209 was the site and very nice crowd was in attendance for DDR competition 

 

Look for another Mini A-Kon event in the new A-kon Gaming series coming up in one Month. Keep an eye our here for info tournaments and general gaming which we're organizing.

Championship Gaming Series Folds

DirecTV-backed professional videogaming league Championship Gaming Series (CGS) has folded. Launched in January 2007, CGS started with six franchises in the U.S. (in cities like LA, NY and Dallas), and expanded internationally this year. Its matches were picked up by DirecTV (NYSE: DTV), BSkyB (NYSE: BSY) and Star, and the LA-based company had corporate sponsors like Xbox 360 and Mountain Dew. CGS also announced a new executive team in January, but the progress wasn’t enough to bring the company into profitability. In a statement, CGS said “the economics just didn’t add up for us at this time.” The shutdown leaves Major League Gaming (MLG) as the only real contender in the professional gaming space.
